In the shop, more medium figures (including Jessica Rabbit) are for sale. The sign saying that Cars 2 and Winnie the Pooh artwork were on display: I was told about them, or else I’d have have found these sketches! The storyboard sketches that are normally in the Storyboard Room are in the Magic of Disney Animation show, at the stage area. I was told that the Storyboard room is being turned into a more generic room, but it’s currently blacked out – so we’ll see when it opens back up! The televisions that used to be outside of the Animation Gallery are gone: Normally the lighting is better, I hope they can fix it. I did okay with it by cropping one photo (second picture down), but the lighting was pretty uneven in the cases. The one thing that was hard for me to capture was the bow and arrows in the first case. More artwork and photos inside the other case: Royal Triplets Harris, Hubert, and Hamish: It certainly has a darker tone to it than other Pixar films, but there were quite a few funny moments in the trailers as well. The fiery redhead Princess Merida is Pixar’s first female lead, and this is Pixar’s first fairytale. What I’ve seen so far of the film is very lush and spirited, and I love Scotland. I am looking forward to Brave more than any other film this year. There are also two other maquettes in separate displays. He also said that more cases should be there soon with other Brave artwork (I hope that is true). A Cast Member said that the cases were lowered so that guests in wheelchairs could see them. There are several pieces of artwork on the wall, and currently two small cases of art, photos, and maquettes closer to the ground than before (this changed a couple of months back). Sorcerer Mickey from Fantasia is currently in front of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.Ī couple of new posters are up near the Animation Gallery, including Tangled Ever After and Wreck-It Ralph: We always try to photograph the artwork in the first few days, and I checked as I always do.Īt the end of the 3rd page, I have links to photos of five other displays we’ve covered over the last few years! The banners in the courtyard still promote Prep and Landing, and even the posted sign stated that Winnie the Pooh and Cars 2 were there. I was told in December that the display should be up the first week of January, but it is just in the process of changing over now (a lot of the artwork is there, but I was told more is coming). Which is to say, surprisingly, sometimes delightfully well - even if you have no clue what a paladin or Red Wizard or Harper is, or if the term “Dungeon Master” sends your mind straight to “Fifty Shades of Grey.I was working on my DHS to Epcot photo walk today, and stopped into Disney’s Hollywood Studios to check on a few things, including the Magic of Disney Animation building to see if Disney/Pixar’s Brave artwork was yet up. But this is a movie, not a game, and I’m here to tell you how it works for over two hours at the multiplex. And that’s the thing that makes it work.Īt least, for a newbie like me. The second, broader joke is that “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” hotly awaited by devotees of the decades-old role-playing game, makes darned sure to be fun, and funny - enough to laugh at itself. The first is that Xenk, a paladin (or holy knight) in “D&D” lingo, is everything BUT fun - gorgeous, noble, heroic, smart, and did we mention gorgeous? He’s just REALLY not fun, or funny. “You’re not a lot of fun, are you,” notes barbarian Holga (Michelle Rodriguez) to brave fighter Xenk (Regé-Jean Page) in the new “Dungeons & Dragons” film, making two jokes at once.
